Ford History in Indonesia
The Ford brand has been a familiar name in the Indonesian automotive industry since the 1950's. PT Ford Motor Indonesia was established on July 12, 2000 and acquired the sole agency rights to distribute Ford products in Indonesia since 2001. PT Ford Motor Indonesia is a 100% PMA company owned by Ford Motor Company.
In 2002, PT Ford Motor Indonesia launched Ford back into the Indonesian automotive spotlight with its 'Built Ford Tough' Ford Ranger Pick-up truck. Now in its 6th year of operation, PT Ford Motor Indonesia has been name in Gaikindo (Association of Indonesian Automotive Industry) as one of the best 10 automotive brand in Indonesia.
